Kellergalerie

Kellergalerie
Solarium
Bernd Krauss's contribution to the exhibition (2003) consists of a series of mutually related spatial situations and actions. The Kellergalerie (The Basement Gallery), noted for the brick pattern painted on the wall, contains different objects like a solarium, musical instruments and artistic endeavours. The latter refer to examples from the most varied levels of creative activity. Parallel to this one third of the Kellergalerie is devoted to exhibitions which change on a weekly basis. Outside the gallery is the editorial office of the newly started magazine KUKU.ck, which Bernd Krauß will be publishing during the course of the exhibition. Another part of Bernd Krauß' work is the Sender Mittelfranken (Mittelfranken Transmitter), a local radio transmitter made out of wood, scaffolding and a monitor, which transmits continuously within the frequency of the Kunstverein. The transmitter will function as a platform for a radio workshop by "Studio B11". His Ytong-Burg (Ytong- Castle), made out of 'ytong' blocks placed on a pallet, with tools attached ready to be used by the visitors, can also be described as a form of workshop.
